Ultrasound and Bone Density
Ultrasound
Laurel Ob/Gyn, PA offers obstetrical , complete gynecologic, and saline infusion ultrasounds. These may be scheduled as needed by your physician. Saline infusion ultrasound may be associated with mild cramping and you may wish to take an over the counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication prior to the procedure.
Bone Density Scan
Laurel Ob/Gyn, PA offers bone density scanning to evaluate and diagnose osteoporosis and osteopenia. This is a test that measures the strength of your bones. The results are usually reported to you approximately one week after your test is completed. We ask you to note the following for the day your bone density is scheduled:
- Wear an outfit with an elastic waistband, or one that has no METAL buttons, zippers, snaps, or rivets (this applies to clothing only; underwire bras and jewelry are fine).
- Wear shoes that slip on and off easily.
- Do not take your calcium supplement the morning of your test.
